The Application Process

You must submit a Graduate Application to be considered for any master's, doctoral, graduate certificate program or as a non-degree seeking student. Application materials  without an application will not be reviewed.  

All graduate programs applications must be submitted online. Click on the Apply Now button on the left or here: apply online.

Programs will not receive application material for review until the Application Fee has been paid.

Admission Requirements

 For admission into a master's program, the doctoral program, graduate certificates or as a non-degree seeking student, the university requires all applicants to submit university and program requirements.

University Requirements
  • A graduate studies application.
  • Official transcripts of ALL college level work

    An official transcript is a transcript submitted directly to the Office of Graduate programs by the college or university or a transcript submitted by the applicant in the original sealed envelop from the college or university.

    NKU alumni do not need to submit transcripts.

Application Fees

Application for master's degree program........$40.
Application for non-degree seeking student...$40.
Application for graduate certificate program...$40.
Application for doctoral programs.................... $50.

The non-refundable fee can be paid online when the application has been submitted or a check or money order can be mailed to the Office of Graduate Programs.

Anyone who has received a degree from NKU or is a full-time employee qualifies for a waiver from the application fee.

Upon submission of your application a checklist of the admission materials required for your program will be emailed to you.
