NKU Supports our Veterans and Family Members

NKU has one of the largest student Veteran populations in Kentucky, and we support them with the resources they need to be successful in their academic careers.

Northern Kentucky University has been selected by G.I. Jobs Magazine as a Military Friendly school for the second year in a row, which places NKU in the top 15% of all schools nationwide.

Here are the top 3 reasons why NKU is the College for our graduate student Veterans and dependents:
  • NKU adapted HB 425 which allows NKU to charge the in-state tuition rate to all Veterans under the Post-9/11 GI Bill
  • NKU has an active student Veteran organization (V.E.T.S.) which is a student led group that supports veteran students on campus and in our community.
  • NKU participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program. Family members of a veteran who qualify 100% for the Post-9/11 GI Bill may apply for the Yellow Ribbon Program in order to get their graduate courses covered in full.

See a video of some of the events of the NKU V.E.T.S. (Veterans for Education and Transition Support) from last spring and hear our Vets talk about their experiences at NKU.

Veterans Services assists all veterans and family members currently receiving the GI Bill. To schedule an appointment please visit our website or call us at 859-572-7609.
