Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership
The Ed.D. is designed for experienced, fully-employed education leaders and practitioners.
The program is designed to meet a set of “best practice” competencies/outcomes integrated with individual career and personal goals for educational leaders with five or more years of professional experience.
Two unique elements of the program include:
- A cohort project focusing on a contemporary regional issue in education that impacts the educational attainment, economic viability, and/or livability in the metropolitan area, and;
- An individual "action-research" dissertation intended to improve the quality of the organization and affect positive change in the institution in which the participant works.

Doctor of Education Nurse Educator Track
Build in collaboration between the College od Education and Human Services and the College of Health Professions, the Ed.D. Nurse Educator Track was created to prepare expert nurses for careers in nursing education for academia, staff development, or patient education. The program is embedded in the Doctor of Educationallowing the nurse learning associated to study and work with educators from different educational environment from our region.
The Ed.D. Nurse Educator is a cohort model. Part of the classes will be held within the Ed.D. program. The class structure is a hybrid model with some face to face meeting and the balance as an online component. The other half of the curriculum is offered through the College of Health Professions and the classes are completely online.

Doctor of Nursing Practice
The DNP is designed for those in direct clinical practice and areas that support clinical practice-administration, organizational management and leadership, and policy.
This 36 credit hour program is a fully online and can be completed on a part-time basis in three years. The curriculum includes 500 clinical hours spaced throughout the pogram. Additionally, students in the program are required to do capstone project for graduation.
Applicants for the DNP must hold a master's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited school.
